# Image Grid Splitter > Slice a photo into numbered tiles without losing edge pixels. Split one image into a row-and-column grid and download every tile as a PNG in one ZIP. Uneven dimensions are distributed across the tiles so the complete photo can be reconstructed. Part of usefulweb.app (https://usefulweb.app/). Results are deterministic calculations from the inputs and the listed assumptions; the API returns exactly what the web page shows. ## Use it - Human interface: https://luminaimagesplitter.usefulweb.app/ (interactive tool at https://luminaimagesplitter.usefulweb.app/tool) - JSON API: POST https://luminaimagesplitter.usefulweb.app/api/v1/calculate with a JSON object of inputs (schema: https://luminaimagesplitter.usefulweb.app/api/v1/tool) - OpenAPI: https://luminaimagesplitter.usefulweb.app/openapi.json - MCP (Streamable HTTP): https://luminaimagesplitter.usefulweb.app/mcp - tool `lumina_image_splitter` ## Inputs - images (file, required): Single photo (PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF) - Up to 24 PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF images (first frame). ZIP order is preserved. Decoded total: 32 MP; each photo: 16 MP. - rows (integer): Rows - columns (integer): Columns ## Method - The source is auto-oriented. Integer boundaries use floor(index × size / count), ensuring no gaps, overlaps or missing edge pixels. - At most 64 nonempty tiles; original decoded photo limited to 16 MP. ZIP names encode row and column. - Outputs are PNGs with original EXIF/GPS removed. The ZIP includes a JSON manifest with the exact tile coordinates.
